PrimeTime holds off Division Rival Crusaders 121-119

April 2nd Columbia, SC - The PrimeTime players traveled to Columbia SC to take on the Carolina Crusaders in a match up of ECBL Southern Conference Rivals. Coming into the game PrimeTime had a record of 5-0 and were leaders in Southwest Division and the host Crusaders had a record of 5-1 and led the Southeast Division. The first quarter saw the host take a early lead behind 8 points from PG Damier Pitts, but Lysander Bracey and Jarrett Johnson for PrimeTime combined for 21 in the quarter as PrimeTime ended the 1st up 37-31. The second quarter Pitts combined with Rob Whitfield to scored 18 points as the Crusaders opened up a 15 point lead in the 2nd quarter. Josh Dollard who was debuting for the PrimeTime Players helped close the lead down to 7 at the half by scoring 15 points in the quarter including 8 straight to close the quarter out as Crusaders led 63-56 at the half. The two team played even throughout the the third with Jalin Alexander scoring 11 of his 20 in the quarter for the Crusaders and Josh Dollard and Bracey combined for 24 for PrimeTime. The final quarter started with the Crusaders leading 96-93 but they quickly were able to push that lead back out to 10 by the midway point. PrimeTime then began chipping away at the lead behind 9 straight points from Josh Dollar and then back to back baskets by Chris Moore gave PrimeTime a 110-104 lead with 4 minutes to go. The Crusaders then would go on a 8-2 run to and as the game went into the last two minutes the game was tied at 112. Odell Tuner had two big blocks and defensive rebounds and Josh Dollard scored 6 points down the stretch to give PrimeTime a 120-117 lead with 20 seconds remaining. Cornelius Reynolds would make a two pointer after a missed three to cut the game to one, at that time PrimeTime inbounded the ball and time ran out with the Crusaders attempting to foul. After the buzzer the officials spoke and decided to replay the final play again and awarded a foul to put Quay Kimble on the line for PrimeTime where he would covert 1 of 2 with .08 seconds remaining. The Crusaders would move the ball to half court for the inbounds and after a time out by both team once the ball was ready to be put into play, there was a call away from the ball on PrimeTime to give Rob Whitfield a chance to tie the game. He would miss the first free throw and after intentionally missing the second one Jarrett Johnson was able to secure the rebound and PrimeTime held on for a 121-119 win.
