PrimeTime hold off Snipers for 128-117 Win
April 16th Rock Hill SC - The PrimeTime Players returned home after picking up two road wins over the last two weeks and they welcomed cross town rivals the Gastonia Snipers to Legion Collegiate Academy. The 1st Quarter saw the host open up a quick 16-2 lead behind the hot shooting of Quay Kimble who scored the first 14 points for the PrimeTime Players and also 19 of his 33 in the quarter and backcourt mate Chris Moore added 11 including a half court three at the buzzer to give PrimeTime a 47-27 at the end of the 1st. The second quarter saw the visiting Snipers get back into the game as DJ Beausejour and Deon Holmes combined for 19 points and Sniper Big Man PJ Heath grabbed numerous offensive rebounds for second chance shots for the Snipers as they cut the lead to 61-74 going into the half. The beginning of the 3rd period both teams played even before back to back Sean Barnette three pointers put PrimeTime up 92-76 at the midway point. After a timeout by the Snipers Kwane Brown and Kenny Lemon helped the Snipers on a 16-0 run, as they came all the way back to tie the game at 92-92 as they combined for 11 of those 16 and a total of 16 in the quarter. The last minute of the quarter, after the Snipers had 4 straight possessions with a chance to tie the score, Chris Moore was able to find Melvin Rodgers for his lone basket of the game that was a three from the corner for a three point lead, then Sean Barnette had a offensive rebound and put back to give PrimeTime a 92-92 lead heading into the final quarter. The fourth quarter the Snipers cut the lead down to 97-95 then Sidney Sanders hit back to back three pointers and also a big defensive charge to help push the lead up to 8. Quay Kimble added 9 points down the stretch and Odell Turner knocked down 6 of 8 free throws and also added three big blocks in the 4th and 8 rebounds as PrimeTime was able to hold on and take a 128-117 win.
