June 1st Rock Hill SC - The PrimeTime Players hosted the Hickory Hoyas in a conference matchup with the Hoyas needing a win in one of its last two games to secure a playoff spot for the 2024 season. The Hoyas jumped out the gate quickly in the 1st quarter outscoring the host 33-19 in the opening quarter with Kenny Lemon leading the way with 13 points in the quarter. In the 2nd quarter the momentum started to change as Anthony Johnson and Zeb Graham combined for 18 points in the quarter as PrimeTime was able to take a 54-50 lead with a little over a minute left, before the Hoyas closed out the quarter on a 9 -0 run to take a 59-54 lead into the half.The second half was back and forth with the PrimeTime finally looking to have taken control of the game going up 10 late in the 4th quarter behind 35 combined points from Chris Moore and Lysander Bracey. The lead wouldn't last though as Jahid Wright would score 14 points in the 4th and helped give the Hoyas a 117-116 lead with a little more than a minute remaining, the next play Will marion would get a steal and the Hoyas would take a 119-116 lead with 45 seconds remaining. After a PrimeTime timeout they pushed the ball up quickly and Zeb Graham attacked the basket and was fouled by CJ Miller with 40 seconds which was called a Flagrant 1, and Graham was able to hit both then on the inbound Lysader Bracey attacked the basket and also got fouled and after both FT put PrimeTime back in front 120-119. On the other end the Hoyas again gave the ball to Jahid Wright with a chance to take the lead but a big one on one stop by Anthony Johnson led to a fast break where Odell Turner was fouled on a layup attempt. Odell Turner would make both Free Throws for a 122-119 win then Jaquez Chambers would miss a three pointer to tie as time expired.
