Cornellius Reynolds (198-SF-1997) had an amazing evening in the last round for league's leader PrimeTime Players and that's him to receive a Hoops Agents Player of the Week award for round 1.
The 27-year old had the game-high 43 points adding three rebounds and four assists for PT Players in his team's victory, helping them to outclass, the league's bottom-ranked team Goldsboro W. (#3, 0-1 ) with 33-point margin 138-105 . It allowed Players to jump to the first place in the ECBL. But it's just the very beginning of the season and PT Players won just one (their first) game. It's too early to say anything as the standings can be changed completely after next round. In the team's last game Reynolds had a remarkable 87.5% from 2-point range and got three three-pointers out of 6 attempts. It's his second year at Players and it's hard to imagine this team without him. Claflin University graduate has very impressive stats this year. Reynolds is league's best scorer averaging so far 43.0ppg. Reynolds is in league's top in and averages solid 87.5% FGP and 50.0% from behind 3-point line.
The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was another PT Players' star - young forward Odell Turner (201-F-1991). Turner impressed basketball fans with a double-double of 13 points and 22 rebounds. Of course together with Reynolds he helped PrimeTime Players with another comfortable win outscoring Goldsboro W. ( 0-1 ) 138-105 . His team has extremely good start of the season. They won their first game. However the season is at the beginning, so everything can happen. They still may lose their high position in the standings. Turner is one of the most experienced players at Players and similarly like Cornellius Reynolds has a reputation of one of team's most reliable players. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 13.0ppg (#6). His other stats are also decent: 22.0rpg and 4.0apg.
The third best performed player last round was Mike Hughes (188-SG-1996) of Winston-Salem Wolves (#5). Hughes showcased his all-around game by recording 20 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists in the last round. Despite Hughes' great performance the Wolves lost 104-122 to Gastonia S. (#1, 1-0 ). But his team cannot count on just a single player as he also needs help of the other teammates. The season just started for Hughes as he played only first game. But it already looks like he can be team's leader.
